Week # 14 - Atmospheric Perspective
Hi Everyone,
#14 Thinking about Atmospheric Perspective. How can you show atmosphere and distance in a painting? The paintings by Monet show this concept really well. Notice how the colors are much less vibrant as things move back in space. Also, there is so much less detail. It helps to keep this in mind to convince the viewer of the depth within your paintings. Notice in the second painting there is a clear foreground, middle and background. Notice how the atmosphere is treated at these points. We can’t wait to see what you do!
Janet and I have really enjoyed the sense of community this blog has helped to form. It’s been a joy viewing your art works and we hope the art prompts were a good challenge. With the weather opening up and our schools on pause, we’re eager to get out and paint. We feel this is a good time to take a break from the blog. If you have any paintings after this last prompt, you can still send them to us and we will be glad to post them. We have enjoyed this journey with all of you so much!
We will follow up with any workshops we hope to offer in the very near future. Till then, stay safe, stay creative and keep painting!!!
